How “Rocks” Started: Making Custom Clogs for My Son

My son asked for custom Crocs a while back. He wanted something that felt personal — his name, his number, his team colors — but everything online was either overpriced, low quality, or looked like a decal slapped on the shoe.

So I tried something different.

I took the same design tools I use for Bluegrass Design & Print and figured out a way to build a full-wrap design that actually bonds cleanly to the clog. Something bright. Durable. Affordable enough that a kid can wear them to practice, around the house, or straight into the dirt without worrying about ruining anything.

That’s how “Rocks” started.

A simple idea that turned into something fun. The first pair was for him. Then his teammates wanted some. Then other teams wanted them.

Once people saw the finished results — bold colors, sharp edges, and a design that wraps around the entire shoe — it clicked. These weren’t just Crocs with stickers. They felt custom from the ground up.

And honestly, they turned out better than I expected.

Here’s what people seem to like:
– Full-coverage design with bright colors
– Clean details (names, numbers, mascots)
– Comfortable fit and lightweight feel
– Affordable enough to actually buy
– Hold up well to daily use

They’re fun to make, too. Each pair is its own little project. These aren’t mass-produced. I build each pair based on the info you give me. Every pair ends up looking different, which is the best part.

You can see the variety — same base style, but completely different looks depending on the kid and their team colors.

If your kid wants something personal, or your team wants a fun add-on for the season, I can put together a pair of Rocks that fits what you’re going for. You can call or text 606-308-2659, email josh.bowles@live.com, or complete the form below.
